Christmas means more!

 Hey Stampers!  Happy Saturday!  Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving (if you celebrate it) and survived the Black Friday madness.  I have a the first of many Christmas cards for you today showcasing of course The Project Bin!  My project today uses Maybe Christmas.  Let's get started!  My finished card is a standard A2 size with a little bit of a twist.  The card stock base is navy blue and cut at 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2.  Once I had my card scored I opened it up on my paper trimmer and  I cut from the bottom of the card at 2 1/8 to the score line.  So when you are done you have two flaps.  I cut the top flap off at the score line.  I took a piece of patterned paper from the Perfectly Plaid collection by Lawn Fawn  and cut it at 2 x 4  and adhdered it to the flasp so I had just a little bit of a border of the navy blue showing.  On the inside of the card I adhered a piece of Sky blue card stock that measured 4 x 5 1/4.  For the medallion on the front of the card I did the following.  First I stamped my image in Versamark ink on the same Sky blue card stock and embossed it using Silver Platinum embossing powder from Ranger.  The I used the three biggest label dies from the Labels Nine set from Spellbinders.  I cut out my image using the second largest die.  To make a frame I took the largest die and the third largest die and cut them out  using more of the Perfectly Plaid patterned paper.  I adhered my image piece to the frame using Nuvo glue.  Once I gave that a moment to dry I adhered the medallion piece on the front flap, putting adhesive only on the bottom half of the image piece.  On the inside of the card I stamped the "Merry Christmas" from this same set in Tuxedo black ink.  Then I took the snowflake image from the set and stamped the image randomly on the inside piece with Versamark ink again.  Here is a photo of the inside of the card.

I love the subtle look that you get from this technique. Don't be afraid to stand out

Good morning everyone!  Welcome to another Project Bin Saturday.  A couple of weeks ago, I went a little crazy and bought more of the wonderful sets offered by The Project Bin.  Today's card uses Spencer's Set.  There is a sentiment in this set that is a quote from Dr. Seuss (whom I love) and I got an idea swimming around in my head to do my project around this quote.  Which is "Why fit in when you were born to stand out" So this is what I came up with

So what I did was take the image from the set which is the heart puzzle and stamped it all over a white A2 size base using black ink.  Then I stamp the heart and colored it blue, and fussy cut it out which was easy then added a couple bling on the heart.  Stamped my sentiment fish tailed the ends and called it gorgeous.  But while I was tiding up and taking pictures I kept looking at and thinking it is so white.  So I went back to the drawing board so to speak and this is my final card

I stamped a few more hearts colored them green, red, and yellow; cut some of the puzzle pieces out of my colored hearts and then I adhered them to my background piece.  I love this final product.  What a difference a little color makes so then I trimmed my piece down to 4 x 5 1/4, round the corners and adhered it to a piece of blue card stock from my stash which I round the corners on as well and this is my completed project for today.  I hope you enjoyed it and will check out The Project  Bin, you will love the stamps.

Fur Therapy!

Good morning and happy Saturday!   Today's card is break from all the holiday stuff and one you could use as a thinking of you for a guy I think or quickly turn it into a birthday card for the special man in your life.

Today's project using the Kinda Pawsome from The Project Bin.  This set has 2 images and several sentiments and comes with 2 dies to cut out the pups!  I also used the following supplies:  Crumb Cake card stock from Stampin'UP!, Early Expresso ink SU, background stamp Hardwood to create the wood like on the front of the dog house, Blueprints 12 from My Favorite Things, white card stock and a pencil.  I didn't realize that the Blueprints 12 is no longer available from MFT, I apologize for that.

Ok so onto the card.  I stamped the background stamp first using the Early Expresso ink onto the Crumb cake card stock and then cut my pieces needed with the square and rectangle die from the Blueprints 12. You can get both pieces out of one half sheet if you are careful and ink the whole half sheet of paper.  I didn't think about that until after I had used two sheets lol! I took the  rectangle and cut it half to create my roof pieces.  I attached the two pieces together at the ends and then arranged it on the square piece until I liked the placement.  Once I adhered the roof, I trimmed the excess card stock off to make the roof. (see pictures below)   To make the door for the doghouse.  I used a square punch, I think it is 1 1/2 or 2 in square.  I punched it once and then moved it up a little bit and punched again to make a little bit taller door.  The width of punch was perfect for the puppy so I could stamp him in the doorway. Once I had my house assembled I put it down on a piece of white card stock and light traced the top of the roof so I could trim it down and attach it to the back of the dog house.  Once I had it attached I carefully stamped the sitting pup image from the Kinda Pawsome set in the doorway of the dog house using Early Expresso ink.  I stamped the sentiment " the best therapists have fur and four legs" on white card stock and then used another die from the set that cut out this beautiful flagged piece.  I attached the sentiment above the door and viola! we are done.  Well I stamped you are "kinda pawsome" on the inside and then I was finished.  I love how this turned out and hope you like it.  I added additional pictures at the bottom of my post so you can see the different stages.  Thank you for stopping by.

It's Feeling like Autumn

 Hey Stampers!  Welcome back to another Saturday showcasing The Project Bin.  Today's card features the New Leaf set.  Autumn or Fall is probably my favorite season.   So I was trying to decide what I wanted to do for my project today when I came across this video from Ranger Ink and used it as my inspiration. 

So the first thing I did was take a piece of card stock and cut it into an A2  size card front and  I cut it from Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth card stock.  In the video I shared Ranger is using the Distress Oxide inks which I don't have any (yet!) so I used my regular Distress inks.  I used Antique Linen, Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint, and Fossilized Amber.  I also used one Memento Dew Drop ink, Lady Bug.  I stamped my greeting " Autumn teaches that change can be Beautiful" in Rich Cocoa before I started ink blending.  I am telling you this because I initially did my blending first and then dropped the stamp when I was getting ready to stamp sooooo I got out my Misti and stamped first.  I used the Ranger blending tool with round foam sponges to do the blending. I started with Antique Linen, then Spiced Marmalade, and finally Peeled Paint.  Once I had my colors down, I went back over it with Antique Linen to try and smooth the blending.  I took my Lady Bug ink and went around the edges of the card.  I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops in the color Ripened Pumpkin.  I wanted the card to have a little sparkle so I took two of my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens in Hearthside and Moonshine.  I tapped the pen on the side of my finger to create drops of sparkle on the card. At first I thought the red was too much but once it dried I was happy with how it turned out.  On the inside, I stamped "turn over a new leaf every day." with Rich Cocoa again.  My card base is cut from Orange Peel card stock, cut at 4 1/14 and scored at 5 1/2 and is a side fold card. 

So that is my card for today.  Just a little bit about what is to come; I am currently planning a Holiday series which I hope to film and post some videos for a few of the cards I do and my plan is bring you a couple Autumn/Thanksgiving cards too!  I am loving my stamps from The Project Bin so I hope you check them out!
