Happy Birthday Shaker

Hey Stampers!  Happy Sunday!  I hope everyone has had a great weekend.  My card project today features a SVG file from Heartcraft Paper called the Party Speech Bubbles.  I used the Happy B-Day bubble.  Now I am going to be completely honest with you...making this card nearly had me in tears.  I set up my Silhouette Portrait and without thinking updated all my software. Which changed the way my design screen looked, I posted a message in the design team group and got great feed back of "keep trying" and "what happens when you try to cut".  The point of telling you guys this is that everyone struggles when making cards and it is important to not let our frustration get the best of us.  Ok, enough of that, onto the project.

I imported my speech bubble file into my Silhoutte.  I increated the size to 4.58 x 4.49.  I cut one using patterned paper from Pink and Main called Celebrate.  The stripe down the center of the card base is from the same pad and is the flip side of the balloon paper.  I love this paper because you get pinks and purples on one half and the other half is blues and greens.  So after I cut out the speech bubble with the words cut out, I cut it out again using a piece of Blue Violet card stock from Simon Says Stamp but this time I cut it without the words.  The piece serves as the back of my shaker piece.
Once I had the second speech bubble cut out, I added a piece of acetate to the back of the bubble with the "Happy B-Day".  I traced the shape of the bubble and then cut the acetate with my scissors.  I used 1/8 in scor-tape to adhere the acetate to the speech bubble.

Once I had the acetate attached to the back of my piece, I set about to adding the pieces to the A, P, B, and D to complete the letters.  Once I had that all done, I added think foam strips from Darice to make the wells for my confetti.  I love these strips as it makes doing shakers like this so much easier.

Now I added the confetti to make my shaker.  I used a rainbow mix, that is circles of different sizes.  Once I had the confetti in, I carefully set about added the solid speech bubble to back.  I didn't get pictures of that because well, it was hard to do one handed.  Once I had the shaker piece together, I added the strip of stripes to center of a horizontal A2 card base.  I adhered my speech bubble piece to the base.  Once I had everything all together I thought it needed just a little something so I added some glossy dots from Pink and Main.

I hope you enjoyed my project today.  Stayed tuned as we will be having some sneak peeks coming at the end of July as well a new Challenge.  Speaking of Challenges, you still have 7 days to enter our first challenge.  It is Anything Goes.  So make a card and link it up.  There are some amazing prizes.
One more thing before I go, did you need that Heartcraft Paper has a Facebook group?  Please join us to get all kinds inspiration from the Design Team and others in the group.

One in a Melon

Hey Stampers!  Happy Wednesday and Double Love from me.  My first post today is from Heartcraft Paper and features the digi Watermelon Pop.  This comes with the image and the sentiment and I love it!  Watermelon is probably my favorite fruit.  I start buying as soon as it is in the stores and probably buy one a week until all the melons are gone.  So when I saw this in the HCP store, I had to have it.  I printed everything on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth card stock.  The base of my card is A2 and is made from Green Leaf card stock from Simon Says Stamp.  The layering piece I used is also from SSS, I used Doll Pink and I cut it to 4 x 5 1/4.  Both of these card stocks are 100# and are excellent card stocks.  I used a piece of Green Leaf to frame the sentiment.  I colored that watermelon pop with my Copics.  The seeds are colored with C7 and C9.  The rind is G17, G14, and G12.  Finally the melon is colored is with R05, R27, and R29.  The stick for my pop was colored with E40, E43, and E31.  Once everything was all colored I took my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen and went over the melon and unfortunately ever picture I tried to take of the sparkle did not turn out.  Finally I used some red and white twine from my stash, wrapping it around the Doll Pink three times and then tying a bow towards the bottom.  The jewels are from stash as well but are from Fun Stamper's Journey called Rainbow Drops .  I love the colors but I will admit that I hate that they don't already have adhesive on them. ( I am so lazy sometimes!)  I didn't put anything on the inside but this could be used as just about any type of card just add your inner sentiment.  So that is my card for today.  Before I go I wanted to remind you that you still have time to enter a project in the Heartcraft Paper Blog Challenge.  There are some great prizes so get your entry in.  Thank you for stopping by.

Getting Butterflies

Hey Stampers!  Happy Wednesday, you are not seeing double.  I accidentally double booked my posts today so you just get twice as much me!  Today I am bringing a card using one of the amazing stamp sets from The Project Bin.  It is called Kinda Sorta.  My card is a standard A2 card.  My base is made from some shimmer card stock that I found in my stash.  I stamped the sentiment image in Ocean Mist ink from Gina K Designs.  All the patterned paper I used is from Flirty Florals by Queen and Co.  My mat pieces are made from Doll Pink card stock from Simon Says Stamp.  The stripe at the bottom is Green Leaf, also from Simon Says Stamp.  I used my circle dies from Kat Scrappiness to cut my image and the frames .  I used Nuvo glitter drops in Atlantic Drift and three pink Glossy Dots from Pink and Main.  I didn't use any specific card sketch but I love how the layout looks and how all the colors work today.  I also used an embossing folder from Darice called Cherry Blossom to emboss the piece of patterned paper with the butterflies on it.   The panels are 2 x 5 1/4 and 2 3/4 x 4.  The green stripe on the bottom is 1/2 x 4 1/4.  This would make a great anniversary card or with a different color scheme a Valentine.  I hope you enjoyed my project today and will check out the fantastic stamps available at The Project Bin

Just Because

Hey Stampers!  I have had this sitting in my drafts waiting for a post to be written so I decided to write it up quick.  This is an image I colored for a challenge in Conie Fong's Facebook group.  This is an over sized card. It is probably 5x5.  I will be honest I have no idea what all colors I used but I love how this turned out the red base is  card stock from Simon Says Stamp and is Lipstick Red.  The image is called Garden Bouquet.  I printed the "just because" on white card stock and trimmed it with some of the Lipstick Red.  I love how this turned out.  Thank you for stopping by.

Many More Mini Cards

Hey Stampers! Happy Wednesday! I hope everyone is having an amazing day!  Here in Iowa, we are a little toasty but better than being cold, right????  Anyway onto today's projects,  I am using a brand new set from The Project Bin called Many More.   This set is so great, it has birthday, get well, thank you, welcome baby, and congratulations sentiments.  So today I made a couple of "mini" cards.  The finished cards measure 2 3/4 x 4.  The card is made from a base of 4 x 5 1/2.  The pattern paper is a piece of pre-embossed dot paper that I covered with Salty Ocean Distress Ink.  I colored the little party hats with a red and blue marker.  The twine is some Doodlebug Twine that I had in my stash.  I used some jewels from stash also that I think match perfect with the Salty Ocean ink.  The sentiment is stamped on white card stock that I cut with a die cut from the MFT Blueprints Tag Builder 3.  The inside says Happy Birthday and Many More!  My second mini is the same size just horizontal.  I used the same patterned paper.  I stamped the get well image and sentiment and colored the image with Y13, Y15, and YR24.    I took my B000 to soften the white and smoothed it out with my colorless blender.  I used the same twine and die cut.  The die cut is the full die cut this time, on the last card I only used about 3/4 of the die.  My embellishments are dots of glitter using Nuvo Glitter Accents in Atlantic Drift. The inside is stamped with Feel Better Soon.  These little cards are perfect for a quick gift bag or to tuck in a bag of comfort food for your sick friend.

I love these mini cards and will be making a bunch more.  I hope you will take a minute and visit The Project Bin web site.  Denise is now offering a free downloadable catalog and she offers amazing stamp sets.  So this is my project for today I hope you liked it.  Thank you for stopping by.

Pigtime Happy Birthday!

Hey Stampers!  Happy Friday!  Today's card is a birthday card featuring this adorable pig digital image from Conie Fong.  So if you go to the link, you will see that this actual image isn't included.  I copied and flipped  the image so I would have two piggys facing each other.  There are three digi's in this set and I love them all.  But back to the card.  I printed my finished image on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth white card stock.  This is an alcohol marker safe paper.  I colored everything with my Copic markers.  The Pig is done in E00 and E02.  The hooves are C1 and C2.  The cheeks are R20.  I add some dot detail with my Signo White Gel pen.  The spots and bow tie on the pig on the left are Y13 and Y15, his hat is BG11 and BG13.  The pig on the right is YR16 and R02 for the spots and the bow tie, his hat is BG32 and BG34.  I typed the sentiment before I printed everything (I made it up).  I used a piece of pattern paper with balloons from the Celebrate paper pad from Pink and Main but unfortunately it doesn't really show. The other layers are Sunshine and Green Apple from Simon Says Stamp.

So if you check out the Conie Fong page on Etsy, join her Facebook group called Conie Fong Art & Design.  Every month the page hosts two challenges one for just coloring and one for a complete project.  The prizes vary between one free images to three I believe.  I was fortunate enough to win a prize from the June challenge for coloring plus it is a great group.  That is my card for today.  Thank you for stopping by.

Facebook told me to!

Hey Stampers!  Happy Thursday! I hope if you are in the US you had a good 4th of July holiday!  So I normally struggle with masculine cards because most of my stamps are geared towards girls.  However,  I belong to several card groups on Facebook and in one of my groups I discovered Dr Digi's House of Stamps.  They have some awesome images and lots of great guy images.  So this image is Hector the Hipster and I love him.  The sentiment is also from Dr. Digi's it comes from Birthday Sentiment Sheet 01.  On the inside it says Happy Birthday to You!  This sentiment cracked me because if you are on Facebook you get the notifications when it is someones birthday and sometimes the notifications can be a little a pushy.  lol.  This card is regular A2 size card and I colored everything with my Copics.  The image is printed on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Card stock.

Thank you for stopping by.  Come and create something with me.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

hey stampers!  Happy 4th of July (if you are in the US).  So I love to watch fireworks and by that I mean an organized show.  My favorite are the ones that light up the sky.  So this stamp set was a quick favorite.  Today's card is obviously in honor of 4th.  I used red base that is A2 size. My "patterned paper" is created using the starburst image in the Red, White, and Boom set from The Project Bin.  I stamped in Memento Luxe Love Letter and with Stampin' UP! Pacific Point.  I cut a circle from the same red card stock and stamped the sentiment with the Pacific Point ink.  I took the starburst image and stamped it on the circle with Simon Says Stamp Clear ink.  I also attached to star brads on the circle, these brads are from The Eyelet Outlet.   I used the colored jewels in red, blue, and clear on the pattern paper I made.  I also took my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen and created glitter spatter on the piece.

You can kind of see the glitter splatter.  Between the glitter splatter and the jewels in real life it has a fantastic sparkle.  I adhered the circle to the center of the card with foam dots and this completes the card for today. Thank you for stopping by.  Come and create something with me.

So my project today features several things from the new release I used Harold, wizarding sentiments, and the Hogwartz image.  So to start I printed my images on Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Premium card stock.  The box card came from the Box Die by Pink and Main.

To get the castle on the box die, I printed the castle image on one of the gray tones from the Storm Clouds paper pack from Recollections.  Once I had the image printed I cut one part of the box from that printed image and then cut another one from the same gray card stock.

Once I had the box pieces cut, I took my C5, C3  markers to give the castle some definition.  I added Y15 to the windows and then went over it with clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle pen to make them look lighted.  I printed "have a wizin' good day" and cut it with another die cut from the box die set.  I printed the Welcome to Hogwarts and trimmed it down and made a sign trimming it with Lipstick Red and Sunshine card stock and did the same thing with the "fantastical" sentiment.  Harold is colored with Copics as well. His uniform is colored with R24, R27, and R29.  The gold portion is Y08 and Y15.  The Golden Snitch is colored with Y08 with Clear Sparkle pen over it to make it shimmer.  The hair is E31, E33, and E35.  The elbow and knee pads are done with E37, E39, and E57.   The broom is done with E35, E37, and E39.

I used acetate to make him look like he was flying and the two signs look like they are floating.  I love how this card turned out.  A side note, the box die card would normally fit into a regular envelope, however because Harold is "flying", if you wanted to duplicate my card, you would need a larger envelope.  I hope you love the card and take a minute to check out the challenge and create a card.  The new release from Heartcraft Paper has something for all crafters.  I am so excited to be a part of this team and look forward to inspiring you with the awesome images and products.
