The Man

Hey Stampers!  Happy Wednesday!  Today's card is another featuring Classic Man from The Project Bin.  I made this card for a friend to send to her dad for Father's Day.  However, this would make a great birthday card for a dad.  June is always a hard month for me not only because of Father's Day but my dad's birthday is in June.  He would have been 85 this month and he was truly the best dad.  So this sentiment makes me think of my dad every time I read it.  I stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black ink.  The paper is some from my stash that had a nautical theme but I thought it fit perfectly with the sentiment.  I had two 12x12 sheets one with different shades of blue and one different shades of browns.  I trimmed each piece with a black frame, and the attached the panels to A2 size card base. This is based on the Mojo Monday sketch #320

The dew drops are from Honey Bee stamps and I added three under the sentiment and two to the left.  The punch is one that I had in my stash that makes a rounded tag, the inside is stamped with Happy Father's Day from this set as well.  A simple, masculine card for the important man in your life.  I hope you check out the Classic Man and all the other wonderful sets that The Project Bin offers.  Thank you for stopping by.

Unsafe At Any Speed

Happy Wednesday Stampers!  Hope everyone is having a great day.  Today's card is serving two purposes, showing the wonderful set Classic Man from The Project Bin and I needed a card for someone at work.  I love this image and have made several cards with it.  I work at a car dealership and this card is for our service manager. I struggle with masculine cards because I don't make enough but this month I will get lots of practice because most of the cards I am making for my office are male cards.

So onto today's card.  I stamped the car, and the sentiment in Versamark ink and then covered everything with Liquid Platinum embossing powder from Ranger. I heat set it.  I probably should tell  you that I stamped it on Recollections 110# card stock.  Even though I let my heat gun warm up, the card stock still warped quite a bit so I used my Scotch 3M foam tape to adhere the focal panel to black piece of card stock to provide a frame.  I wanted a pop of color so I adhered everything to piece red shimmer paper .  The red ends up being a little bigger than my card base but I decided that is ok.  I added some of my red jewel bling that I have left from my goodies from the Eyelet Outlet.  I added three of the largest ones in the top left corner and two of the smallest in bottom right.  I decided I wanted some color on the actual car, so I added a small jewel to where the "spare" tire would be and then I added two small dew drops to add some dimension for the head lights.  I stamped "Unsafe at any speed" and "Happy Birthday" on the inside and adhered everything to A2 size card base but like I said the panel is a little bigger but I thought that added interest too.  I am very please with how this card turned out.  I am getting a lot of use of this wonderful stamp set.  So I hope you enjoyed today's card and will check out Classic Man as well all the other wonderful stamps available at The Project Bin.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day!  Come and create something with me.

Use the Force

Hey Stampers!  TGIF!  Today's card is one I made for a coworker who enjoys Star Wars.  I absolutely love these images.  I used Sassy Wars and Use the Sass.  I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with my Copic markets.  Darth Vader was difficult for me because he is all black but I needed to make him stand out a little bit.   To make him pop, I colored his "eyes" and "vents" on his mask a lighter gray and I put glossy accents over his "eyes".  I also put glossy accents on the light saber.  These little guys make me smile they are so cute.  I stamped "Happy Birthday" on the inside of the card.  There is a third set that would coordinate with these two called  Galaxy Friends.  The card base is A2 card base out of gray card stock.  So I hope you enjoyed today's card.  Thanks for stopping by.  Come and create something with me.

Let's Taco

Hey Stampers!  Happy Thursday.  Today's project features a fun set from Pink and Main called Fiesta.  I didn't use them but this set does have matching dies.  I made this as thank you card for someone at my job that bought lunch for the whole office.  It wasn't Mexican food but maybe next time.  I stamped Holy Guacamole Let's taco about how awesome you are.  I colored everything with my Copic markers but lost my list of colors so I can't give you the color combos.  The only thing I would change is the Fiesta's I stamped weren't that clear but I was pretty much done with the card and wasn't starting over (I am sure you understand).  I adhered the focal panel to a gray card base that is side folding A2 base cut at 4 1/4 and scored at 5 1/2.  So I hope you liked today's card.  Thanks for stopping by.

Diets are Hard

Hey stampers!  Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to another card brought to you featuring The Project Bin.  My card today is a little puny, a little ironic, and a life truth.  I used the Hole Foods set.  I used the donut image, which I stamped twice.  I used my Copics to color this.  I used E31 and E33 for the "donut" and E37 and E39 for the frosting.  I colored them the same because if I eat cake donuts which is what I think these look like, I want a vanilla cake donut with chocolate frosting.  I used a punch to make it look like one has a bit out of it.  I popped up them up on foam tape.  I used the sentiment "I ate a donut without sprinkles....Diets are hard."  This is actually one sentiment all together but I burst out of my comfort zone and cut my sentiment so I could stamp them separately.  I am not going to lie....I had a small moment of panic when I was doing it but it turned out fine.  On the inside I stamped "The center of a donut is 100% fat free."   The card base is A2 side top folding card made from 110# Recollections white card stock from Michael's.  The pink frame is a piece of pink from my stash.  The patterned paper is from Pink and Main called Celebrate which I love because you get pink and blue themed papers in this pad. The ribbon across the center that the donuts are sitting on is also from my stash.
I think the puny part of my card is obvious but the ironic thing about the sentiment I used is I don't like sprinkles on my donuts but the life truth: diets are hard.  I recently started trying to make some life changes.  The biggest one is that I have cut way back on the amount of diet soda I am drinking.  For me this is huge, I have been a huge Dt. Coke addict since about 1999 and I mainly drank just soda, very little water or anything else.  So after a wake up call at the doctor's I started working on drinking less soda and started to drink iced tea and water.  So this whole sentiment appealed to my sense of humor and I wanted to make a card because I figured I can't be the only person struggling with making better choices.  So I hope this card made you giggle a little bit and that you will check out this set and all the fabulous stamp sets offered at The Project Bin.
